The New York Style
Opportunity:
Iwas given the opportunity to design a series of DVD covers for Plexifilm. Thesecovers are based off four different styles and designers of our choosing.
Solution:
The New York Style was the style Ichoose to reference my covers from. The New York Style consists of thedesigners Matthew Leibowitz, Paul Rand, Alvin Lustig, and Lester Beall. I founda commonality between each designer, the circle, and used it on each cover to unifythe series. Taking inspiration and elements from each of the designer’sdistinguished styles helped me derive to the designs I created for the DVD.
